Karla Elliott

Karla is a writer and academic. She is author of the nonfiction book Young Men Navigating Contemporary Masculinities and winner of the 2023 Merri-bek Libraries Short Story Competition. Her work has been published in The Victorian Writer, LSE Review of Books, Discover Society, Monash Lens and in the anthology A Peopleโs History of Fairport Convention. She holds a doctorate in Gender Studies and Sociology and has authored over 20 academic journal articles and reports. She is currently writing her debut fiction novel, which was longlisted for the 2024 Stockholm Writers Festival First 5 Pages Prize.
